Clubsport VS R decision

Postby Mikha2010gti » Sun Jan 13, 2019 9:53 pm

Hi there, need some advice. I would like to purchase a car but am a little confused. I like the clubsport alot yet also like the Gold R. Which is the better buy as they are generally in the same price range. I have looked at some of the clips on YouTube and found that the Clubsport is a better drivers car. Can the upgrade software allow for the clubsport to be in full throttle all the time as the extra power only comes in for 10 sec.

I had the same decision to make 6 months back.
Decided on the Clubsport, no regrets.
Brilliant car.
Make sure you get one with the Recaro seats.

Plug in a JB4 and you will have alot more power.
If you add a Downpipe and Intake, you should see 50kw improvement.

I dont think you can compare the power of an AWD to FWD.
Its just different.

But at the end of the day, its your choice

I would go with the Clubsport, feel like the 7R is too refined.

When i drove the Clubsport it felt like more of a drivers car and you get a sense of adrenaline and thrill, that is just my 2cents :afro:

I had the same decision, I went with the Clubsport with Recaros.Brilliant car .You don't see as many around as compared to the R. Clubsport should hold a higher resale as its a Limited Edition.

This is not necessarily the case. As a Clubsport owner myself, I explored the option of trade in and private sale and the offers were pretty much disappointing and more in line with normal MK7 offers...
