Hi Guys

Whats the price on your stage 2+ software for the MK6 GTi?
Including the map switching programme.

How many maps are included in the programme?

APR is around R4850 for stage 1 or 2 software and then it's about R1000 extra for the map switching option.

Not that expensive as some make it out to be. I still remember paying R4500 for my basic single map last year November when other software was also around the 4k mark...

The fully loaded ECU on the GTI allows for all the programs. Stock, Valet, 95,98 and 104... And no need for hardware or devices... It is all integrated with the ECU. Gets switched through the cruise control. A feature called EMCS.

Do all SW companies have this now? When researching SW for my car the only place that mentioned using the cruise control stalk as a switcher was APR.

APR is the only SW that can do this. This feature is added when you pay extra for the fully loaded ECU from them. Other software tuners need a map switcher to plug into the OBD2 to switch maps. Which you also have to pay for in any case.

Map switching device gets my vote, you can disable your car from starting and can't start it without the SPS. Useful for if parking somewhere for long...

I'm surprised that other tuners haven't made a Cruise Control stalk map selector, even better... map switching through the MFD. I guess the Stalk and SPS method are not as visible to dealers as text on the MFD staying "Map Selection".
