This is probably gonna sound very daft of me, as I've changed brakes on all my cars in the past, but I had some trouble removing the front calipers of my Golf 6 R to access the brake pads. I removed the anti rattle clip, loosened both the 7mm hex screws, but for the life of me I cannot pry the caliper off around that frame which goes over the brake disc. Its blocked by it. So the caliper is loose, but I don't know how to press the piston back a bit so that I have more play to pull the caliper over that frame. The pads still have plenty life in them so I don't wanna damage them trying to pry them back with a screwdriver, but I don't know how else to get some play in order to pull the front part of the caliper to go over the frame.
Anyone have any success with the R brakes? My GTI was simple... perhaps I'm not doing something right.
I had a small grinding noise when braking so trying to check inside the pads for any small gravel etc.
