SAFELY REMOVE GLUE FROM A DASHBOARD

hi gents

does anyone know how to safely remove glue from a sticker has has melted on to the dashboard?

benzine - it is oil based so it is not abrasive like acetone . i used to use it to remove price labels off perspex .
just test it on a part of the dashboard where you cannot see ....like the underside or the part where the door hinges are .
it may get shiny where you apply it as it is oil based and could give a similar affect to dash cleaner .
you can buy small bottles at the chemist .
